Taking Inventory

Soul maintenance requires us sometimes to take inventory of our self-being and purpose. Inventory is required to make sure there are not any toxins that will pollute the soul. Toxins are people, place, things and events that can secretly creep into the mind and invade the soul. The invasion is so subtle you will miss it and it is not until you become stagnate and the world becomes cloudy.soul-becomes-dyed-with-the-color-of-its-thoughts

Sometimes we wake up and even though the sun is shining, our lives feel like heavy clouds and overcast days.We move slow and the world seems to pass us without notice. We loose sight of our purpose and passion and the presence of burdens begin to show their ugly heads. We wonder why we seem to walk with a heaviness that is uneasy and the ability to shake the heaviness is futile. Nothing seems new. There is no joy in the immediate world and the attempts to laugh only evidence fake smiles and phony attitudes.

Beloved, if you are feeling this way, today then you have become infected with a toxic disease of assumptions, false presumptions and expectations. You have become arrogant in your thinking and your false pride has steer you to thinking you are the captain of your ship. You believe that you are steering the ship that God intended you to only be the passenger. Your life is not your life alone. If God is the captain of your ship, then your input is never needed. He knows the desires of your heart and he does not need your help. The only think you are required to do is praise him, pray and love him for all he has done for you and will do for you.

You see, the consequences of you trying to do God’s work is the lack of joy. When you force God’s hand to work in your favor out of season, you evidence an arrogance that will bring down a wrath from the Lord that will stop you dead in your tracks. Life’s burdens will become heavy and unbearable. Distractions will become so evident and your glory will be gloomy.

I encourage you to take a good inventory of your soul and quickly remove all the toxins of assumptions, false presumptions and expectation. Let us learn to be humble and let thy will be done. God knows what is best for us and we must have faith and a little bit of patience to let him do what is best for us and to us. God has never forsaken his anointed children and what he wants for us is greater than we can see. We must be patient and let him guide us to the promises and blessings he has in store for us. Sometimes the waiting feels long and tedious, but the blessings are always on time and rewarding. Wait on the Lord and be of good cheer! He has not failed any of us and he will come through with good favor measured so high you will not have room enough to receive it. Have faith! Have patience and know that God is always able! Take your inventory, release the toxins and get your joy back!
